Dear WLES Families,
We hope this message finds you healthy and well.
This week, WLES will start the transition from enrichment & engagement into the instruction phase (Continuity of Learning Plan). With that said, there are still a lot of pieces to fit together. We are working hard to finalize our Continuity of Learning Plan. Once this is completed and approved, we will officially move forward with instruction.
In preparation for the transition to instruction, we are starting academic paper packet distribution. Tomorrow, Tuesday, April 7, we invite you to drive through the school to pick up a packet for your child. Packet pick up hours are 9:30-11:30AM and 5:00-7:00PM.
WLES staff will be present to pass out packets while you stay in your vehicle. We will ask for the student’s name, grade, and teacher so we may keep track of who we are reaching through this process. Writing it on a piece of paper so we limit contact is best. You are welcome to have a friend or neighbor pick up your child’s packet. If you are able to print from home and prefer to receive the packet digitally, please contact your child’s teacher, and s/he will email it to you.
The online piece will come soon. Kindergarten, first, and second grade will use an online platform called Seesaw. Third, fourth, fifth, and sixth grades will use Google Classroom. As teachers work to learn these platforms, they will send out invitations to your family to connect.
Please watch for these communications from your child’s teacher.
If your family needs a device, we have you covered! Kindergarten through sixth-grade families may borrow a device from WLPS. Device pick up is scheduled for Tuesday, April 7 and Wednesday, April 8 from 12:00-4:00 PM at the high school main entrance. An email was sent home earlier today with more details.
