Our WLPS Community Recreation Department holds possibilities for all types of events. The facilities are available for rental and for use through our youth & adult leagues. Our Community Recreation Department is here for you to get active, learn new skills, make new friends, and most of all have fun!

WLCR is excited to offer online registration through Active.
You can also visit the WLCR office outside the community pool at Whitmore Lake High School Monday, Wednesday and Friday 2:00pm-6:00pm to register and pay with check, cash, and credit card (Mastercard, Visa, Discover, and American Express).
WLCR will process full refunds for any programs cancelled by our department. All other cancellations must be made one week before the program begins or first day of practice or Kick Off event. A $5 or 7% processing fee, whichever is greater, will be deducted from refund amounts. After a program begins, we will only consider a refund with a medical note. A $40 fee will be assessed for checks returned for insufficient funds.
When Whitmore Lake Public Schools are closed because of bad weather, Community Recreation activities are cancelled. Every attempt will be made to reschedule; however, when circumstances prohibit, classes will not be rescheduled.

Ethan swam varsity for 3 years at Wayne Memorial High School where he was a 2-time MISCA qualifier. Before swimming at Olivet College, Ethan served as the Waterfront Director for the MUCC Youth Camp in Chelsea. He then began his coaching career with the Dearborn Dolphins in 2016, and in 2017 became the Assistant Coach for the Tecumseh Tigersharks, during which time he was also the Head Coach for the Tecumseh Middle School Swim and Dive team, as well as the Operations Assistant Manager for their community pool. Since 2018, Ethan has been the Head Swim Coach of the Life Time Fitness in Canton, where coached numerous Junior Olympic and State qualifiers, as well as a few Zone qualifiers, and he also served as an Aquatic Supervisor. Ethan is extremely excited to be here as a full-time Aquatic personnel, and cannot wait to bring Whitmore Lake to new heights with both the swim team and community recreation programs.Contact Ethan
Before joining the WLCR team, John attended Eastern Michigan University where he received his undergraduate degree, as well as played for the baseball team. John is continuing his education at Eastern Michigan University completing his Master’s Degree in Sport Management. His wife Andrea is currently working at Keystone Church in Saline, Michigan while completing her degree in Elementary Education. They love spending their time traveling, camping, and being around friends and family. Outside of the office, John enjoys spending time in the Upper Peninsula hunting and fishing at his cabin, playing golf, and listening to country music. “I am truly excited about my new opportunity here at Whitmore Lake.
