Our WLPS Community Recreation Department holds possibilities for all types of events. The facilities are available for rental and for use through our youth & adult leagues. Our Community Recreation Department is here for you to get active, learn new skills, make new friends, and most of all have fun!

WLCR is excited to offer online registration through Active.
You can also visit the WLCR office outside the community pool at Whitmore Lake High School Monday, Wednesday and Friday 2:00pm-6:00pm to register and pay with check, cash, and credit card (Mastercard, Visa, Discover, and American Express).
WLCR will process full refunds for any programs cancelled by our department. All other cancellations must be made one week before the program begins or first day of practice or Kick Off event. A $5 or 7% processing fee, whichever is greater, will be deducted from refund amounts. After a program begins, we will only consider a refund with a medical note. A $40 fee will be assessed for checks returned for insufficient funds.

When Whitmore Lake Public Schools are closed because of bad weather, Community Recreation activities are cancelled. Every attempt will be made to reschedule; however, when circumstances prohibit, classes will not be rescheduled.
If inclement weather occurs after school hours or on the weekends, please check he WLCR office recording at 734-449-4461 Ext. 3057 for information.

A WLPS alum and a member of the community since she was one-year-old, Maria enjoys giving back to the community who has given so much to her. She strives to enrich the Whitmore Lake and surrounding community members’ lives with opportunities to get active, have fun, learn new skills and make new friends! Graduating from Central Michigan University with a major in Journalism and minor in Public Affairs and Women Studies, Maria enjoys using her communication and organizational skills and way with people to create something positive. She enjoys being involved in the community as a member of the Community Scholarship committee, Vice-President of the Whitmore Lake Foundation for Educational Excellence and a Zumba instructor. She has enjoyed being a part of the WLCR department since 2010 and is excited to continue to watch both aquatic and recreational programming grow and thrive. She lives in the Hamburg area with her husband and fellow WLPS graduate, Joe, their daughter Cecilia and their dogs Penny and Bella.Contact Maria
Chas is a graduate of Dexter High School and is new to the Whitmore Lake area. He is excited to be a part of the community and help grow the aquatics programming at WLCR. Chas graduated from Hope College in Holland, Michigan with a degree in Psychology. He is a certified lifeguard, swim instructor, water safety instructor and lifeguard instructor. Chas started swim team at age seven and played water polo for Dexter High school. He is excited to be a member of the WLCR staff and cannot wait to get to know the community members.Contact Chas
Joe earned his Bachelor’s in Sports Management from Eastern Michigan University where he was also a member of their Men’s Track & Field Team. He comes to us from the University of Michigan where he worked as an Athletic Facility Supervisor and is currently pursuing his Master’s degree in Sports Administration from Wayne State University. “I’m looking forward to seeing the recreation programs flourish and establishing great relationships with the WLCR community,” Joe shared with us.
