College Application Process

• The Counseling Office will begin processing applications no sooner than Friday, September 6, 2019.
• Students should visit the individual website of a college to access the application and apply electronically.
• Students should use Naviance Student to electronically request transcripts for college applications, request teacher recommendations, and manage college applications. A short instructional video which outlines the steps to request transcripts and teacher recommendations through Naviance Student is located on the website.
• Many colleges accept the Common Application. A copy of the Common Application and information regarding any supplements requested by specific colleges may be downloaded from http://www.commonapp.org. A short video in Naviance Student explains how to link the Common App account to Naviance Student.
• Applications should be listed under “Colleges I am Applying to” in Naviance Student at least two (2) weeks prior to any application deadline.
• Most colleges require an application fee, which can range from $30 to $75 per application. Colleges will waive this fee if financial need is demonstrated. Students should discuss this with Mrs. DeKeyser if they qualify.
