Senior Year College Application Process at Whitmore Lake High School

Naviance Student is parents' and students' primary method of communication with the Whitmore Lake Counseling Department. Here you will find information about college events and planning, scholarships, career exploration, and goal setting, as well as with links to many helpful resources regarding these topics.

The Counseling Office will begin processing applications no sooner than the second week of September.
Students should visit the individual website of a college to access the application and apply electronically.
Students should use Naviance Student to electronically request transcripts for college applications, request teacher recommendations, and manage college applications. Short instructional videos outlining the process for each task can be found in Naviance Student.
Many colleges accept the Common Application. A short video in Naviance Student explains how to link the Common App account to Naviance Student.
Applications should be listed under "Colleges I am Applying to" in Naviance Student at least two (2) weeks prior to any application deadline.
Most colleges require an application fee, which can range from $30 to $75 per application. Colleges will waive this fee if students qualify for free or reduced lunch.
