Counseling: Testing Information
MEAP (Michigan Educational Assessment Program)
Each year, Whitmore Lake juniors take the MEAP tests in the Spring.
The tests measure students' performance in the areas of: Math, Science,
English Language Arts and Social Studies. Starting with the 2005-2006 school year,
freshmen will now be tested in the area of social studies in the fall.

ACT
The ACT test should be taken by all students who think they are going to enroll in college.
The test is taken by Juniors and Seniors. Juniors usually take the tests in April or June.
Seniors may retake the test from October through December. For more information, visit www.act.org

SAT
Some colleges require students to take the SAT. Visit www.sat.org for information regarding the test, as well as study material.
PLAN
The PLAN is taken by Sophomores each Fall. This year's test will be administered on November 8th.
The PLAN is a pre-ACT test and helps students evaluate their academic performance and also recognize career areas that might interest them.
PSAT
The PSAT is a pre-SAT test. The test is taken by Juniors. This year's test has already been administered.
A.S.V.A.B.
This is a free test that is given each year to Juniors. The military administers the test.
